Six Arrows to Sunset

In these times of Before, the earth was scorched by the continuous heat of six Suns.
Rivers dried up, plants withered, and mortals knew nothing of night. 
In their anguish, the people turned to the legendary Archer to slay the Suns and end their harsh rule. 

Shoot the Suns

Six Arrows to Sunset is a storytelling game inspired by the many sun-shooting myths of Central and East Asian cultures. Tell the story of a semi-divine Archer on an ill-fated quest and the multiple Suns who try to escape death. 

To play, you will need 3+ players, a writing implement, and a sheet of blank paper.

Features

• No prep, No GM. Character creation begins the narrative. Everyone has a hand in telling the myth.
• Bluff to Survive. As Suns, present challenges to encourage the Archer to use particular gifts. But don't give too much away or you'll be the next Sun to go down!
• Rip Paper, Fire Arrow. There's nothing like cleanly tearing that strip of paper to make even the hottest of celestial bodies quake with fear. 
• One-page, Tri-fold layout. Quick to learn with minimal rules.

Inspiration

There are many sun-shooting myths throughout Central and East Asian cultures. These myths often tell of how the world came to have just one sun. In China, Hou-Yi the Archer shot down nine of the ten suns. In Mongolia, Erkhii Mergen shot down six of the seven suns. In Taiwan, multiple indigenous tribes have their own version of sun-shooting legends that explain anything from the movement of the sun to the creation of the moon.  And there are many more myths out there!
